Skills Registry The Skills Registry provides a search engine for prospective employers (hereinafter “company” or “companies”) to review candidates who have registered on the system to advertise their availability and seek internships/learnerships or full-time employment; and for companies to engage with specific candidates with a view to offering employment opportunities. Where referenced, the words Skills Registry refers to the site www.skillsregistry.org.za. The Skills Registry is a free service provided to assist ICT skills development. Definitions “Candidate” refers to a person who registers to participate and be listed on the Skills Registry. Candidates can be undergraduate students requiring practical industry experience for the purpose of fulfilling their studies, qualified postgrads seeking internships/learnerships or full-time employment, and/or skilled IT professionals seeking permanent employment. "Company" or “Companies” refers to prospective employers that have registered to use the Skills Registry with the intention of identifying and engaging with suitable candidates. "Interview request" refers to an expression of interest sent via Skills Registry from a company to a candidate . An Interview request is non-binding and does not create any contractual obligations to either company or candidate. “Student” (where applicable) refers to an undergraduate who is completing a formal qualification and is required to complete their studies through practical industry experience or internship.
